The Pragmatic Visionary"How is it that we spend our whole lives trying to become what we already are? While this is true for each and every one of us, it seems to be poignantly so for the greatest card of Mastery, the King of Spades. This card has a powerful and grounded sense of reality, but it is their purpose to question it. They have a vision for the perfect love but must endure betrayal. They can be supremely confident but self-esteem is one of their greatest challenges.
This is the final card, the summation and culmination of the entire deck. The overall lesson of this card are around responsibility and the use of power. And, as with every card, the ego will distort this virtue into care-taking, and try to use control as a way to showcase love (psst, control is NOT a way to show love!). Anyone who has a parent born on January 1st, please note that they cannot help feel responsible for everyones' success, happiness, and well-being. And so when they try to manipulate and control you, it is their way of saying, "I love you". Whatever they do or become will be felt in great waves by everyone around them.
